ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I grew up in a small terraced house in the village of Goldenhill, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England with my three brothers and two sisters. I married in 1971 and have been blessed with a daughter, son-in-law and grandson.
Having left school at 15 with no qualifications to my name, I eventually graduated as a mature student from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 2:1 BA (Hons) degree in Professional Studies in Education. After qualifying I worked for many happy years as a Lecturer at Stoke-on-Trent College.
Some may say that I have always had a flair for writing, although author and novelist never entered my equation. An unexpected change in circumstances afforded me the time to reflect and, more importantly, to write my Father's life story.
'Buried Tears' like many true stories, was kept waiting too long to be told. Once the cork was out of the bottle, it almost wrote itself and became my main focus of attention for many months. After publication to local acclaim, I assumed my writing days were over, but in its telling I opened a door which I cannot close. There are simply too many stories still waiting in line to be given a voice.
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my family and especially to my Father, who shared his story with me, so that, in turn, may share it with you.
