Description
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints British convert Ralph Smith left behind his large family to share the Gospel to those living in Georgia and Alabama in 1879. He endured everything from blizzards to starvation to mob attacks. His story is told in "Without Purse or Scrip: They Called Him on a Mission." The story is taken from Smith's various journals and was written by his great-great-granddaughter Lisa Dayley and is a follow up to Dayley's "The Frozen Trail." That book was about Ralph's wife and Dayley's Great-great-Grandmother Emma Girdlestone Smith.
