Eve LaTourneau returns from her traumatic sabbatical in Brownsville, Texas, to take a new position at a news station in Victoria, BC, Canada.

After healing quite quickly from her gun wound, Eve is promoted and sent on a new assignment in Africa where she will report on poaching in Zimbabwe. She is to stay at a compound out in the middle of the African plains for six months.
